“The Industry has gone wild for Merino,” states Peter Duke, In the wool business for 25 years, having founded SmartWool and now CEO of Point6 socks, Duke knows his way around the global wool supply chain and how to create Merino product that today’s consumers crave.
While it’s true that the wool supply chain “continues to crank along,” according to Duke, he like other top players are eyeing new possibilities.
Peter Duke, Point6 CEO, says when it comes to brand strategy, they work with “farmers who know what it takes to grow the highest quality Merino wool and are able to grow Merino wool to our exact specification.”
Duke is currently setting up production in Tennessee and is representative of a movement out of China. “We are seeing an increased demand for Point6 socks and we need to quickly react and more closely oversee quality as we grow,” says Duke.
Product developer Brad Pass is responsible for developing the knitting technology to produce the complex Point6 designs. Based in Tennessee, Pass can now be in the factory daily.
