Who wouldn't want a sock makeover?

Backpacker Magazine, November 2011 - Pont6 Hiking Core Light Crew – These merino/nylon blend socks prevent blisters because they wick fast, breathe well, and have a snug cushioned fit. Stretchy ribbing in the arch retained its shape, so they never bagged out or caused hot spots.

Textile Insight quotes Peter Duke "The Industry has gone wild for Merino"

“The Industry has gone wild for Merino,” states Peter Duke, In the wool business for 25 years, having founded SmartWool and now CEO of Point6 socks, Duke knows his way around the global wool supply chain and how to create Merino product that today’s consumers crave.
While it’s true that the wool supply chain “continues to crank along,” according to Duke, he like other top players are eyeing new possibilities.
Peter Duke, Point6 CEO, says when it comes to brand strategy, they work with “farmers who know what it takes to grow the highest quality Merino wool and are able to grow Merino wool to our exact specification.”
Duke is currently setting up production in Tennessee and is representative of a movement out of China. “We are seeing an increased demand for Point6 socks and we need to quickly react and more closely oversee quality as we grow,” says Duke.
Product developer Brad Pass is responsible for developing the knitting technology to produce the complex Point6 designs. Based in Tennessee, Pass can now be in the factory daily.

Mountain Weekly News – Mike Hardaker is now a merino believer!

The Running Light Mini won him over!
The founders of the Merino wool movement have started a new performance sock company offering socks for years round enjoyment. Point6 has created the Running Light Mini, a highly breathable thin merino wool sock. To be honest I was hesitant to stuff wool socks into my running shoes as I thought it would cause my feet to sweat and blister. SNEWS - Why U.S.-made is hot in outdoor socks

The drive to be made in America is one of the reasons Steamboat Springs, Colo.-based Point6 (www.point6.com) is choosing to move its entire merino wool sock production from China to Tennessee by the end of 2011. Consumers are demanding it and so are retailers, Point6 marketing director Betsy Seabert told SNEWS at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market 2011, where the announcement was made. “We’ve actually had retailers pass on our product, even though they loved it, but they didn’t want to buy a product made in a foreign country. Now, we’ve had dealers say ‘OK, we’re ready to buy now.”
