The Adventure Journal

12/20/11 - We’d also advise matching them (Blundstone boots) with a pair of Point6 socks. Yes, socks. We know they’re not sexy, but we learned just how important the right socks can be on a recent hike when the packing was done in haste, and blisters ensued. We would’ve been wiser to rely on Point6′s Hiking Tech Lightweight Crew, a pair of which we’ve been testing and loving. The fit is excellent and the softness is genuinely rare. Yes, there are other great Merino socks on the market, but there are a few reasons we dig these.  1. There’s no funky toe seam to irritate or rub. 2. The ring-spun wool makes them feel super silky, so there’s less friction. 3. Point6 is moving its production back to the U.S. We’re not jingoistic enough to think everything that’s made in China can be made in the U.S.A., but when a really good product can be made here, we’re happy to champion their cause. Now maybe Point6 can make some really nice sweaters, too? $19
